What is a catalyst in a car?
A catalytic converter is a chamber that is used to control the emissions coming out of an engine. The catalytic converter does this by using a catalyst to separate harmful substances from a vehicle’s exhaust fumes. The catalyst converts carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons into oxygen, water and carbon dioxide.
