NFT Games & Play To Earn News

Play-to-earn games do what traditional video games do not: they reward players for the time and effort they put into the game. Each game offers a unique way to reward players for their in-game activity. This reward can take the form of cryptocurrencies, a non-fungible token (NFT), or an increase in the value of a player’s existing NFT. Some P2E games require an initial investment, while others can be played for free. Here are our recommendations for the best games of 2022.

Sandbox

A sandbox is a connected world with unique play and earn gameplay possibilities. In areas of different sizes, each owner can build their own creations using a visual game builder. The Sandbox is still in the alpha stage, but if you’re interested in DIY games, it’s definitely worth considering. Check out our full review of The Sandbox to find out how to get started.

The Sandbox is made up of thousands of zones of varying sizes. Each plot houses a unique creation of the owner of the plot. It can be a game, a social hub, or anything else you can imagine and create. The Sandbox is voxel-based and reminiscent of Minecraft. The resources of each experiment are individual voxel objects that can be imported from external editors.

Sandbox Game Maker is based on Unity and features a constantly evolving scripting language that gives developers many options to create something unique. Owners have full control over what is built on their property within the play-to-earn crypto games ecosystem.

Games created to date range from role-playing games to side-scrolling games, from economic simulations to dance games, and much more. Players can participate and play any public experience through Game Maker. Most are single-player adventures, but some offer the opportunity to interact with other players.

Axie Infinity

Axie Infinity is the most famous play-to-earn game developed on the blockchain to date. The game focuses on breeding, collecting, and fighting creatures called Axies and exploring the world of Lunacia with them. At its peak, the marketplace was making millions of sales a day, with Axies selling for thousands of dollars each.

Sky Mavis, the team behind Axie Infinity, has created a community of millions of players worldwide. The focus has been on developing countries such as the Philippines and Venezuela, where many players earn enough to live on. Much of this success is due to investors who have bought equipment for these players and sponsored their bouts.

Sky Mavis has received support and sponsorship from major companies such as Ubisoft and Samsung. As a result, they developed a sidechain called Ronin to bypass high gas fees on the Ethereum blockchain. Ronin allowed network users to trade and sell game assets without charging. This facilitates the flow of value in the market.

Axie Infinity is leading the way. The creators have announced new ways to burn Axis to obtain in-game items. They have also created exchanges that allow players to play under a manager who makes an initial investment and receives a percentage of the profits in return.

Gods Unchained

Gods Unchained is a fantasy blockchain game to earn crypto based on the Ethereum network. The game is free to play, easy to access, and offers the ability to play and win from the start.

In Gods Unchained, two players compete in an arena to determine who is more powerful. Whether they choose nature, light, deception, death, war, or magic, the goal is always the same: to reduce the life points of the opposing god to zero.

In 2019, Gods Unchained changed its name to Immutable and began developing Immutable X, a second-tier NFT-centric solution for Ethereum. Immutable launched its trading floor in 2021 and today serves as a gas-free exchange platform for God’s Unchained cards, as well as several other NFT projects.

Splinterlands

Splinterlands is a collectible play-to-earn crypto game played in a browser. It started on the Steem blockchain as Stakemonsters but eventually moved to the Hive blockchain. Thanks to cross-chain functionality, cards and tokens can be traded on the Ethereum blockchain and Wax. Splinterlands now has a control token called SPS.

Splinterlands is somewhere between a card-building game and an automated battle game. Players use their cards to create a battle formation based on the rules of the game. Once both sides have created their teams, the cards compete until only one team remains. Players earn dark energy crystals by winning battles and can also earn additional cards and other rewards through daily quests and bi-weekly ranked competitions.

Players combine cards to improve their characteristics and gaining additional abilities. Cards are available in both regular and rarer gold foil versions. Splinterlands has its own in-game marketplace where cards can be bought, sold, and even rented.

Pegaxy

Pegaxy is a player-versus-player (PVP) horse race with a simple gameplay model, ideal for new P2E players. Players can buy NFT horses to race, breed, or rent to other players.

Each race consists of 12 horses, and the top three win prizes in the Reward Coins VIS game. The positions of the races are determined by the RNG (random number generator), but this will change in version 2 of the game. However, this will change in the second version of the game. The positions in the race will be determined by factors such as the food, equipment, and clothing that the player gives to his horse.
